2024-10-16[lldb] Support tests with nested make invocations on Windows 2/2 (#112360)Stefan Gränitz
Following up from https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/112342, we roll out the fix and quote nested `make` invocations in all API tests.
2024-05-14[lldb] Fixed the test TestExec (#92082)Dmitry Vasilyev
Install `secondprog` to the remote target if necessary.
2023-05-25[NFC][Py Reformat] Reformat python files in lldbJonas Devlieghere
This is an ongoing series of commits that are reformatting our Python code. Reformatting is done with `black` (23.1.0). If you end up having problems merging this commit because you have made changes to a python file, the best way to handle that is to run `git checkout --ours <yourfile>` and then reformat it with black. 2023-04-17[lldb] Add more asserts to TestExecDave Lee
If this test fails, the error message isn't helpful: ``` self.assertEqual(len(threads), 1, AssertionError: 0 != 1 : Stopped at breakpoint in exec'ed process ``` This change adds asserts to verify that: 1. The process is stopped 2. For each thread, that the stop reason is None, or Breakpoint The latter will indicate if execution has stopped for some other reason, and if so what that reason is. 2022-08-15[LLDB] Remove __future__ imports from testsDavid Spickett
Not needed now that we require python 3. Reviewed By: kastiglione, JDevlieghere Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D131761
2022-08-11[lldb] Simplify TestExec's source code (2/2)Jonas Devlieghere
I accidentally forgot to stage part of the changes in the previous commit.
2022-08-11[lldb] Simplify TestExec's source codeJonas Devlieghere
Simplify the test's source code, remove unnecessary headers, and convert it from C++ to C.
2022-06-17[lldb][tests] Automatically call compute_mydir (NFC)Dave Lee
Eliminate boilerplate of having each test manually assign to `mydir` by calling `compute_mydir` in lldbtest.py. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D128077
2022-06-09[lldb] Use assertState in more tests (NFC)Dave Lee
Follow to D127355, converting more `assertEquals` to `assertState`. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D127378
2021-02-03[lldb] Convert more assertTrue to assertEqual (NFC)Dave Lee
Follow up to D95813, this converts multiline assertTrue to assertEqual. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D95899
2021-02-02[lldb] Convert assertTrue(a == b) to assertEqual(a, b)Dave Lee
Convert `assertTrue(a == b)` to `assertEqual(a, b)` to produce better failure messages. These were mostly done via regex search & replace, with some manual fixes. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D95813
2021-01-25[ThreadPlan] fix exec on LinuxWalter Erquinigo
2020-11-18[lldb] [test] Un-XFAIL tests on freebsd/i386Michał Górny
Restrict i386-specific XFAIL on a few tests to non-FreeBSD systems, as they pass on FreeBSD. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D91645

2020-11-05[lldb] Enable FreeBSDRemote plugin by default and update test statusMichał Górny
The new FreeBSDRemote plugin has reached feature parity on i386 and amd64 targets. Use it by default on these architectures, while allowing the use of the legacy plugin via FREEBSD_LEGACY_PLUGIN envvar. Revisit the method of switching plugins. Apparently, the return value of PlatformFreeBSD::CanDebugProcess() is what really decides whether the legacy or the new plugin is used. Update the test status. Reenable the tests that were previously disabled on FreeBSD and do not cause hangs or are irrelevant to FreeBSD. Mark all tests that fail reliably as expectedFailure. For now, tests that are flaky (i.e. produce unstable results) are left enabled and cause unpredictable test failures. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D90757
2020-04-27[lldb] Adjust TestExec code to be closer to real world codeRaphael Isemann
Summary: For some reason the TestExec test on the macOS bots randomly fails with this error: ``` output: * thread #2, stop reason = EXC_BAD_ACCESS (code=1, address=0x108e66000) * frame #0: 0x0000000108e66000 [...] File "/Users/buildslave/jenkins/workspace/lldb-cmake/llvm-project/lldb/test/API/functionalities/exec/TestExec.py", line 25, in test_hitting_exec self.do_test(False) File "/Users/buildslave/jenkins/workspace/lldb-cmake/llvm-project/lldb/test/API/functionalities/exec/TestExec.py", line 113, in do_test "Stopped at breakpoint in exec'ed process.") AssertionError: False is not True : Stopped at breakpoint in exec'ed process. Config=x86_64-/Users/buildslave/jenkins/workspace/lldb-cmake/lldb-build/bin/clang-11 ``` I don't know why the test program is failing and I couldn't reproduce this problem on my own. This patch is a stab in the dark that just tries to make the test code more similar to code which we would expect in a user program to make whatever part of macOS happy that is currently not liking our code. The actual changes are: * We pass in argv[0] that is describing otherprog path instead of the current argv[0]. * We pass in a non-null envp (which anyway doesn't seem to be allowed on macOS man page). 2020-02-11[lldb][test] Remove symlink for API tests.Jordan Rupprecht
Summary: Moves lldbsuite tests to lldb/test/API. This is a largely mechanical change, moved with the following steps: ``` rm lldb/test/API/testcases mkdir -p lldb/test/API/{test_runner/test,tools/lldb-{server,vscode}} mv lldb/packages/Python/lldbsuite/test/test_runner/test lldb/test/API/test_runner for d in $(find lldb/packages/Python/lldbsuite/test/* -maxdepth 0 -type d | egrep -v "make|plugins|test_runner|tools"); do mv $d lldb/test/API; done for d in $(find lldb/packages/Python/lldbsuite/test/tools/lldb-vscode -maxdepth 1 -mindepth 1 | grep -v ".py"); do mv $d lldb/test/API/tools/lldb-vscode; done for d in $(find lldb/packages/Python/lldbsuite/test/tools/lldb-server -maxdepth 1 -mindepth 1 | egrep -v "gdbremote_testcase.py|lldbgdbserverutils.py|socket_packet_pump.py"); do mv $d lldb/test/API/tools/lldb-server; done ``` lldb/packages/Python/lldbsuite/__init__.py and lldb/test/API/lit.cfg.py were also updated with the new directory structure.
