2021-05-26[lldb][NFC] Use C++ versions of the deprecated C standard library headersRaphael Isemann
The C headers are deprecated so as requested in D102845, this is replacing them all with their (not deprecated) C++ equivalent. Reviewed By: shafik Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D103084
2020-01-24[lldb][NFC] Fix all formatting errors in .cpp file headersRaphael Isemann
Summary: A *.cpp file header in LLDB (and in LLDB) should like this: ``` //===-- TestUtilities.cpp -------------------------------------------------===// ``` However in LLDB most of our source files have arbitrary changes to this format and these changes are spreading through LLDB as folks usually just use the existing source files as templates for their new files (most notably the unnecessary editor language indicator `-*- C++ -*-` is spreading and in every review someone is pointing out that this is wrong, resulting in people pointing out that this is done in the same way in other files). This patch removes most of these inconsistencies including the editor language indicators, all the different missing/additional '-' characters, files that center the file name, missing trailing `===//` (mostly caused by clang-format breaking the line). 2019-08-14[LLDB] Migrate llvm::make_unique to std::make_uniqueJonas Devlieghere
Now that we've moved to C++14, we no longer need the llvm::make_unique implementation from STLExtras.h. This patch is a mechanical replacement of (hopefully) all the llvm::make_unique instances across the monorepo. Differential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D66259 llvm-svn: 368933
2019-04-16[Process] Fix linux arm64 single step compilation failureAlex Langford
This was updated in r356703 to use llvm::sys::RetryAfterSignal, which comes from llvm/Support/Errno.h. The header wasn't added, so it fails if you compile for arm64/aarch64. llvm-svn: 358530

2019-01-19Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepoChandler Carruth
to reflect the new license. We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636
2018-04-30Reflow paragraphs in comments.Adrian Prantl
This is intended as a clean up after the big clang-format commit (r280751), which unfortunately resulted in many of the comment paragraphs in LLDB being very hard to read. FYI, the script I used was: import textwrap import commands import os import sys import re tmp = "%s.tmp"%sys.argv[1] out = open(tmp, "w+") with open(sys.argv[1], "r") as f: header = "" text = "" comment = re.compile(r'^( *//) ([^ ].*)$') special = re.compile(r'^((([A-Z]+[: ])|([0-9]+ )).*)|(.*;)$') for line in f: match = comment.match(line) if match and not special.match(match.group(2)): # skip intentionally short comments. if not text and len(match.group(2)) < 40: out.write(line) continue if text: text += " " + match.group(2) else: header = match.group(1) text = match.group(2) continue if text: filled = textwrap.wrap(text, width=(78-len(header)), break_long_words=False) for l in filled: out.write(header+" "+l+'\n') text = "" out.write(line) os.rename(tmp, sys.argv[1]) Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D46144 llvm-svn: 331197

2017-05-12Rename Error -> Status.Zachary Turner
This renames the LLDB error class to Status, as discussed on the lldb-dev mailing list. A change of this magnitude cannot easily be done without find and replace, but that has potential to catch unwanted occurrences of common strings such as "Error". Every effort was made to find all the obvious things such as the word "Error" appearing in a string, etc, but it's possible there are still some lingering occurences left around. Hopefully nothing too serious. llvm-svn: 302872
2017-02-17NPL: Fix one more bug in the single step workaroundPavel Labath
In the case we are stepping over the thread creation instruction, we will end up calling Thread::SingleStep back-to-back twice (because of the intermediate PTRACE_EVENT_CLONE stop). This will cause the cpu mask to be set inappropriately (because the old SingleStepCheck object will be destroyed after we create the new one), and the single-step will fail. Before the refactor the code was still incorrect in this case, but in a different way (the thread was left with the incorrect mask after the stepping was complete), so this was not easy to spot. This fixes TestCreateDuringInstructionStep on the affected devices. llvm-svn: 295440
2017-02-16NPL: Fix single step workaroundPavel Labath
While refactoring the code in r293046 I made a very basic error - relying on destructor side-effects of a copyable object. Fix that and make the object non-copyable. This fixes the tests on the platforms that need this workaround, but unfortunately we don't have a way to make a more platform-agnostic test right now. llvm-svn: 295345
2017-02-02Move classes from Core -> Utility.Zachary Turner
This moves the following classes from Core -> Utility. ConstString Error RegularExpression Stream StreamString The goal here is to get lldbUtility into a state where it has no dependendencies except on itself and LLVM, so it can be the starting point at which to start untangling LLDB's dependencies. These are all low level and very widely used classes, and previously lldbUtility had dependencies up to lldbCore in order to use these classes. So moving then down to lldbUtility makes sense from both the short term and long term perspective in solving this problem. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D29427 llvm-svn: 293941
2017-01-25NPL: Compartmentalize arm64 single step workaround betterPavel Labath
The main motivation for me doing this is being able to build an arm android lldb-server against api level 9 headers, but it seems like a good cleanup nonetheless. The entirety of the cpu_set_t dance now resides in SingleStepCheck.cpp, which is only built on arm64. llvm-svn: 293046
2016-09-06*** This commit represents a complete reformatting of the LLDB source codeKate Stone
*** to conform to clang-format’s LLVM style. This kind of mass change has *** two obvious implications: Firstly, merging this particular commit into a downstream fork may be a huge effort. Alternatively, it may be worth merging all changes up to this commit, performing the same reformatting operation locally, and then discarding the merge for this particular commit. The commands used to accomplish this reformatting were as follows (with current working directory as the root of the repository): find . \( -iname "*.c" -or -iname "*.cpp" -or -iname "*.h" -or -iname "*.mm" \) -exec clang-format -i {} + find . -iname "*.py" -exec autopep8 --in-place --aggressive --aggressive {} + ; The version of clang-format used was 3.9.0, and autopep8 was 1.2.4. Secondly, “blame” style tools will generally point to this commit instead of a meaningful prior commit. There are alternatives available that will attempt to look through this change and find the appropriate prior commit. YMMV. llvm-svn: 280751
2016-02-23Work around a stepping bug in arm64 android MPavel Labath
Summary: On arm64, linux<=4.4 and Android<=M there is a bug, which prevents single-stepping from working when the system comes back from suspend, because of incorrectly initialized CPUs. This did not really affect Android<M, because it did not use software suspend, but it is a problem for M, which uses suspend (doze) quite extensively. Fortunately, it seems that the first CPU is not affected by this bug, so this commit implements a workaround by forcing the inferior to execute on the first cpu whenever we are doing single stepping. While inside, I have moved the implementations of Resume() and SingleStep() to the thread class (instead of process).
