Recently I've been deep diving ELF cores in LLDB, aspiring to move LLDB
closer to GDB in capability. One issue I encountered was a system lib
losing it's unwind plan when loading the debuginfo. The reason for this
was the debuginfo has the eh_frame section stripped and the main
executable did not.
The root cause of this was this line in
[ObjectFileElf](https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/163933e9e7099f352ff8df1973f9a9c3d7def6c5/lldb/source/Plugins/ObjectFile/ELF/ObjectFileELF.cpp#L1972)

This would always be executed because CalculateType can never return an
eTypeDebugInfo

This makes sense as there isn't a explicit sh_type to denote that this
file is a debuginfo. After some discussion with @clayborg and
@GeorgeHuyubo we settled on joining the exciting unified section list
with whatever new sections were being added. Adding each new unique
section, or taking the section with the maximum file size. We picked
this strategy to pick the section with the most information. In most
scenarios, LHS should be SHT_NOBITS and RHS would be SHT_PROGBITS.

A global offset table is a section that holds the address of functions
that are dynamically linked. The Swift plugin needs to know if sections
are a global offset table or not.

This PR adds support for parsing the WebAssembly symbol table. The
symbol table is encoded in the "names" section and contains names and
indexes into other sections. For now we only support parsing function
(code) symbols. The result is that you can set breakpoints by symbol
name, while previously breakpoints by name required debug info (DWARF).
This is also necessary for Swift, which checks for the presence of
`swift_release` as a heuristic to determine if there's a static Swift
stdlib.

Sections now support specifying:
- user IDs
- file offset/size
- alignment
- flags
- bool values for fake, encrypted and thread specific sections

This patch adds the ability to create subsections in a section and
allows permissions to be specified.

ObjectFileJSON sections didn't work, they were set to zero all of the
time. Fixed the bug and fixed the test to ensure it was testing real
values.

Lots of code around LLDB was directly accessing the target's section
load list. This NFC patch makes the section load list private so the
Target class can access it, but everyone else now uses accessor
functions. This allows us to control the resolving of addresses and will
allow for functionality in LLDB which can lazily resolve addresses in
JIT plug-ins with a future patch.

Section IDs are 64 bit and if a section ID was over 4GB, then the
tabular output of the "target modules dump sections" command would not
align to the column headers. Also if the section type's name was too
long, the output wouldn't algin. This patch fixes this issue.

In Apple's downstream fork, there is support for understanding the swift
AST sections in various binaries. Even though the lldb on llvm.org does
not have support for debugging swift, I think it makes sense to move
support for recognizing swift ast sections upstream.

This patch adds support for creating modules from JSON object files.
This is necessary for the crashlog use case where we don't have either a
module or a symbol file. In that case the ObjectFileJSON serves as both.
The patch adds support for an object file type (i.e. executable, shared
library, etc). It also adds the ability to specify sections, which is
necessary in order specify symbols by address. Finally, this patch
improves error handling and fixes a bug where we wouldn't read more than
the initial 512 bytes in GetModuleSpecifications.

Fix modernize-use-equals-default warnings. Because this check is listed
in LLDB's top level .clang-tidy configuration, the check is enabled by
default and the resulting warnings show up in my editor.
I've audited the modified lines. This is not a blind change.

This mainly affects Darwin targets (macOS, iOS, tvOS and watchOS) when these targets don't use dSYM files and the debug info was in the .o files. All modules, including the .o files that are loaded by the debug maps, were in the global module list. This was great because it allows us to see each .o file and how much it contributes. There were virtual functions on the SymbolFile class to fetch the symtab/debug info parse and index times, and also the total debug info size. So the main executable would add all of the .o file's stats together and report them as its own data. Then the "totalDebugInfoSize" and many other "totalXXX" top level totals were all being added together. This stems from the fact that my original patch only emitted the modules for a target at the start of the patch, but as comments from the reviews came in, we switched to emitting all of the modules from the global module list.
So this patch fixes it so when we have a SymbolFileDWARFDebugMap that loads .o files, the main executable will have no debug info size or symtab/debug info parse/index times, but each .o file will have its own data as a separate module. Also, to be able to tell when/if we have a dSYM file I have added a "symbolFilePath" if the SymbolFile for the main modules path doesn't match that of the main executable. We also include a "symbolFileModuleIdentifiers" key in each module if the module does have multiple lldb_private::Module objects that contain debug info so that you can track down the information for a module and add up the contributions of all of the .o files.
Tests were added that are labeled with @skipUnlessDarwin and @no_debug_info_test that test all of this functionality so it doesn't regress.
For a module with a dSYM file, we can see the "symbolFilePath" is included:

The new key/value pairs that are added to each module's stats are:
"debugInfoByteSize": The size in bytes of debug info for each module.
"debugInfoIndexTime": The time in seconds that it took to index the debug info.
"debugInfoParseTime": The time in seconds that debug info had to be parsed.
At the top level we add up all of the debug info size, parse time and index time with the following keys:
"totalDebugInfoByteSize": The size in bytes of all debug info in all modules.
"totalDebugInfoIndexTime": The time in seconds that it took to index all debug info if it was indexed for all modules.

However in LLDB most of our source files have arbitrary changes to this format and
these changes are spreading through LLDB as folks usually just use the existing
source files as templates for their new files (most notably the unnecessary
editor language indicator `-*- C++ -*-` is spreading and in every review
someone is pointing out that this is wrong, resulting in people pointing out that this
is done in the same way in other files).
This patch removes most of these inconsistencies including the editor language indicators,
all the different missing/additional '-' characters, files that center the file name, missing
trailing `===//` (mostly caused by clang-format breaking the line).

These are the last sections not managed by the DWARFContext object. I
also introduce separate SectionType enums for dwo section variants, as
this is necessary for proper handling of single-file split dwarf.

This patch adds basic support for DW_OP_convert[1] for integer
types. Recent versions of LLVM's optimizer may insert this opcode into
DWARF expressions. DW_OP_convert is effectively a type cast operation
that takes a reference to a base type DIE (or zero) and then casts the
value at the top of the DWARF stack to that type. Internally this
works by changing the bit size of the APInt that is used as backing
storage for LLDB's DWARF stack.
I managed to write a unit test for this by implementing a mock YAML
object file / module that takes debug info sections in yaml2obj
format.

Summary:
In an attempt to make file-address-based lookups more predictable, in D55998
we started ignoring sections which would result in file address
overlaps. It turns out this was too aggressive because thread-local
sections typically will have file addresses which apear to overlap
regular data/code. This does not cause a problem at runtime because
thread-local sections are loaded into memory using special logic, but it
can cause problems for lldb when trying to lookup objects by their file
address.
This patch changes ObjectFileELF to permit thread-local sections to
overlap regular ones by essentially giving them a separate address
space. It also makes them more symmetrical to regular sections by
creating container sections from PT_TLS segments.
Simultaneously, the patch changes the regular file address lookup logic
to ignore sections with the thread-specific bit set. I believe this is
what the users looking up file addresses would typically expect, as
looking up thread-local data generally requires more complex logic (e.g.
DWARF has a special opcode for that).

A lot of comments in LLDB are surrounded by an ASCII line to delimit the
begging and end of the comment.
Its use is not really consistent across the code base, sometimes the
lines are longer, sometimes they are shorter and sometimes they are
omitted. Furthermore, it looks kind of weird with the 80 column limit,
where the comment actually extends past the line, but not by much.
Furthermore, when /// is used for Doxygen comments, it looks
particularly odd. And when // is used, it incorrectly gives the
impression that it's actually a Doxygen comment.
I assume these lines were added to improve distinguishing between
comments and code. However, given that todays editors and IDEs do a
great job at highlighting comments, I think it's worth to drop this for
the sake of consistency. The alternative is fixing all the
inconsistencies, which would create a lot more churn.

My apologies for the large patch. With the exception of ConstString.h
itself it was entirely produced by sed.
ConstString has exactly one const char * data member, so passing a
ConstString by reference is not any more efficient than copying it by
value. In both cases a single pointer is passed. But passing it by
value makes it harder to accidentally return the address of a local
object.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.
Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

Normally, LLDB is creating a high-fidelity representation of a live
process, including a list of modules and sections, with the
associated memory address ranges. In order to build the module and
section map LLDB tries to locate the local module image (object file)
and will parse it.
This does not work for postmortem debugging scenarios where the crash
dump (minidump in this case) was captured on a different machine.
Fortunately the minidump format encodes enough information about
each module's memory range to allow us to create placeholder modules.
This enables most LLDB functionality involving address-to-module
translations.
Also, we may want to completly disable the search for matching
local object files if we load minidumps unless we can prove that the
local image matches the one from the crash origin.

NOTE: the minidump format also includes the debug info GUID, so we can
fill-in the module UUID from it, but this part was excluded from this change
to keep the changes simple (the LLDB UUID is hardcoded to be either 16 or
20 bytes, while the CodeView GUIDs are normally 24 bytes)
