2024-08-09[IRBuilder] Generate nuw GEPs for struct member accesses (#99538)Hari Limaye
Generate nuw GEPs for struct member accesses, as inbounds + non-negative implies nuw. Regression tests are updated using update scripts where possible, and by find + replace where not.
2024-07-03[clang][Interp] Fix initializing atomic record typesTimm Bäder
Remove the atomic type when visiting InitListExprs.
2024-05-20[ConstantFolding] Canonicalize constexpr GEPs to i8 (#89872)Nikita Popov
This patch canonicalizes constant expression GEPs to use i8 source element type, aka ptradd. This is the ConstantFolding equivalent of the InstCombine canonicalization introduced in #68882. I believe all our optimizations working on constant expression GEPs (like GlobalOpt etc) have already been switched to work on offsets, so I don't expect any significant fallout from this change. This is part of: https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-replacing-getelementptr-with-ptradd/68699

2022-10-06[CodeGenCXX] Convert some tests to opaque pointers (NFC)Nikita Popov
Conversion done using the script at https://gist.github.com/nikic/98357b71fd67756b0f064c9517b62a34. These are tests where the conversion worked out of the box and no manual fixup was performed.
2022-04-11[test] Remove various legacy pass manager testsArthur Eubanks
The new PM been the default for a while and we're in the process of removing the legacy PM optimization pipeline.
2022-04-07[OpaquePtrs][Clang] Add -no-opaque-pointers to tests (NFC)Nikita Popov
This adds -no-opaque-pointers to clang tests whose output will change when opaque pointers are enabled by default. This is intended to be part of the migration approach described in https://discourse.llvm.org/t/enabling-opaque-pointers-by-default/61322/9. The patch has been produced by replacing %clang_cc1 with %clang_cc1 -no-opaque-pointers for tests that fail with opaque pointers enabled. Worth noting that this doesn't cover all tests, there's a remaining ~40 tests not using %clang_cc1 that will need a followup change. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D123115

2021-02-11NFC: update clang tests to check ordering and alignment for atomicrmw/cmpxchg.James Y Knight
The ability to specify alignment was recently added, and it's an important property which we should ensure is set as expected by Clang. (Especially before making further changes to Clang's code in this area.) But, because it's on the end of the lines, the existing tests all ignore it. Therefore, update all the tests to also verify the expected alignment for atomicrmw and cmpxchg. While I was in there, I also updated uses of 'load atomic' and 'store atomic', and added the memory ordering, where that was missing.
2020-12-30[test] Add {{.*}} to make tests immune to dso_local/dso_preemptable/(none) ↵Fangrui Song
differences For a definition (of most linkage types), dso_local is set for ELF -fno-pic/-fpie and COFF, but not for Mach-O. This nuance causes unneeded binary format differences. This patch replaces (function) `define ` with `define{{.*}} `, (variable/constant/alias) `= ` with `={{.*}} `, or inserts appropriate `{{.*}} ` if there is an explicit linkage. * Clang will set dso_local for Mach-O, which is currently implied by TargetMachine.cpp. This will make COFF/Mach-O and executable ELF similar. * Eventually I hope we can make dso_local the textual LLVM IR default (write explicit "dso_preemptable" when applicable) and -fpic ELF will be similar to everything else. This patch helps move toward that goal.

2014-10-19CodeGen: ConstStructBuilder must verify packed constraints after paddingDavid Majnemer
This reverts commit r220169 which reverted r220153. However, it also contains additional changes: - We may need to add padding *after* we've packed the struct. This occurs when the aligned next field offset is greater than the new field's offset. When this occurs, we make the struct packed. *However*, once packed the next field offset might be less than the new feild's offset. It is in this case that we might further pad the struct. - We would pad structs which were perfectly sized! This behavior is immensely old. This behavior came from blindly subtracting NextFieldOffsetInChars from RecordSize. This doesn't take into account the fact that the struct might have a greater overall alignment than the last field. llvm-svn: 220175

in general (such an atomic has boolean representation) and specifically for IR generation of __c11_atomic_init.
