2023-06-25[llvm] Add missing StringExtras.h includesElliot Goodrich
In preparation for removing the `#include "llvm/ADT/StringExtras.h"` from the header to source file of `llvm/Support/Error.h`, first add in all the missing includes that were previously included transitively through this header.
2022-09-19[Object] Add zstd decompression support to DecompressorFangrui Song
llvm::object::Decompressor is used by many DWARF consumers like llvm-dwarfdump, llvm-dwp, llvm-symbolizer. Add tests to them. The lldb test can be left to D133530. Reviewed By: dblaikie Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D134116
2022-09-17[Support] Rename llvm::compression::{zlib,zstd}::uncompress to more ↵Fangrui Song
appropriate decompress This improves consistency with other places (e.g. llvm::compression::decompress, llvm::object::Decompressor::decompress, llvm-objcopy). Note: when zstd::uncompress was added, we noticed that the API `ZSTD_decompress` is fine while the zlib API `uncompress` is a misnomer.
2022-07-14[llvm-dwp] Add SHF_COMPRESSED support and remove .zdebug supportFangrui Song
clang 14 removed -gz=zlib-gnu and ld.lld/llvm-objcopy removed .zdebug support recently. llvm-dwp currently doesn't support SHF_COMPRESSED. Add support and remove .zdebug support. Simplify llvm::object::Decompressor which has no .zdebug user now. While here, add tests for ELF32LE, ELF32BE, and ELF64BE. 2022-07-13[Support] Change compression::zlib::{compress,uncompress} to use uint8_t *Fangrui Song
It's more natural to use uint8_t * (std::byte needs C++17 and llvm has too much uint8_t *) and most callers use uint8_t * instead of char *. The functions are recently moved into `llvm::compression::zlib::`, so downstream projects need to make adaption anyway.
2022-07-08[NFC] Refactor llvm::zlib namespaceCole Kissane
* Refactor compression namespaces across the project, making way for a possible introduction of alternatives to zlib compression. Changes are as follows: * Relocate the `llvm::zlib` namespace to `llvm::compression::zlib`. Reviewed By: MaskRay, leonardchan, phosek Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D128953

2019-08-14Recommit r368812 "[llvm/Object] - Convert SectionRef::getName() to return ↵George Rimar
Expected<>" Changes: no changes. A fix for the clang code will be landed right on top. Original commit message: SectionRef::getName() returns std::error_code now. Returning Expected<> instead has multiple benefits. For example, it forces user to check the error returned. Also Expected<> may keep a valuable string error message, what is more useful than having a error code. (Object\invalid.test was updated to show the new messages printed.) This patch makes a change for all users to switch to Expected<> version. Note: in a few places the error returned was ignored before my changes. In such places I left them ignored. My intention was to convert the interface used, and not to improve and/or the existent users in this patch. (Though I think this is good idea for a follow-ups to revisit such places and either remove consumeError calls or comment each of them to clarify why it is OK to have them). 2019-01-19Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepoChandler Carruth
to reflect the new license. We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636

2017-06-06Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....Chandler Carruth
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days. I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately) or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that I didn't want to disturb in this patch. This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format over your #include lines in the files. Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again). llvm-svn: 304787
2017-05-18[lib/Object] - Minor API update for llvm::Decompressor.George Rimar
I revisited Decompressor API (issue with it was triggered during D32865 review) and found it is probably provides more then we really need. Issue was about next method's signature: Error decompress(SmallString<32> &Out); It is too strict. At first I wanted to change it to decompress(SmallVectorImpl<char> &Out), but then found it is still not flexible because sticks to SmallVector. During reviews was suggested to use templating to simplify code. Patch do that. Differential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D33200 llvm-svn: 303331
